Bachelor in Business Administration - Finance

Our finance majors learn the basic principles of accounting, economics, and quantitative methods, plus corporate finance and investments in order to prepare for careers as stock brokers, working on Wall Street or in corporate finance, banking, and real estate. The rigorous curriculum has student's ready hit the ground running as they move into their finance careers with companies such as Procter & Gamble, Humana, Fifth Third Bank, GE Capital and Northwestern Mutual Insurance. A suggested course to explore this career path is FIN 300.

Degree Requirements

To earn the bachelor of business administration (BBA) degree in finance, students in the Gatton College of Business and Economics must fulfill University Studies requirements (students enrolled prior to Fall 2011) or UKCore requirements (students enrolled Fall 2011 on), the College premajor and major requirements, and College core requirements.

Requirements for the Finance major consist of at least 21 credit hours. There are four required courses:
